Pete Wilkinson

Pete is a Southern California native with an extensive and varied musical resume.  It all started in Redlands, California, Pete’s hometown, where he listened incessantly to the great sounds emanating from his prized transistor radio.  The Beatles, the Motown Sound, and all the great rock/pop acts from the early 70’s formed the genesis of the youngster’s interest in being in a band – though he did not pick up an instrument until after high school. 

Immediately after completing a cross-country hitchhiking trip after high school graduation, Pete purchased his first guitar, and very shortly thereafter formed The Walter Beeyt Band with friends.  It mattered little that he didn’t really know how to play!  Upon moving to the San Diego area two years later to attend San Diego State University, Pete switched to bass and joined his first band, Bison, a band that played original as well as cover material.  Subsequent bands have typically featured original material in the repertoire, and in 2001 Pete released his first CD of original material with his band The Dads, entitled “Pull My Finger”.

The last several years have found Pete performing in top Southern California 80’s tribute bands, including The Reaganomics and most recently, The M-80s.  In addition, away from music, Pete has a great deal of fun with his family and engaging in various participative sports, both indoor and outdoor.

With the formation of Spectrum, Pete’s dream of performing in the hottest variety band in the Southland has become a reality.
